CDH Family Reunion: Superhero Fun Run & Memorial Walk

Calling all superheroes!

At The CDH Foundation, we believe everyone touched by CDH has a superpower worth celebrating. Whether you are a CDH survivor, an angel, a sibling, parent, grandparent, family member, or friend—you are part of this heroic community!

The CDH journey can often feel isolating, which is why spending time with families who truly understand can be so life-giving. Our Family Reunion is a place to connect, laugh, play, share stories, and remember that none of us walks this path alone.

Join us for an afternoon of superhero-sized family fun, including a fun run for the kids, talking, games, and—of course—a cookout! From 4:00–6:00 p.m., we will celebrate our incredible CDH families and enjoy time together as a community.

At 6:30 p.m., we will transition into our Memorial Walk and luminary lighting ceremony. Together, we will pause for a moment of silence and walk among the glowing names of the beautiful CDH warriors whose lives ended far too soon.

Unable to attend in person? You can still purchase a luminary in honor or memory of someone you love. We will also livestream the lighting ceremony so families near and far can participate.

Registration Update

In an effort to keep costs low and ensure every family has the opportunity to participate, we have reduced the registration fee for this year's event. The $20 registration fee does not include an event t-shirt. However, you may choose to add a t-shirt during registration for an additional cost. Additionally, there will be a Super Hero Sprint available for all children to participate in. The registration does not include the cape but it can be added for an additional fee. This allows families to attend at a more affordable price while still giving participants the opportunity to purchase commemorative swag only if they wish.

 LUMINARIES

If you would like to purchase a luminary for a loved one please complete the form below. Your luminary will be created and available the day of the event whether you are able to attend in person or not. If you would like to purchase more than one luminary then a form must be completed for each one. Multiple luminaries for the same child can be purchased! Once completed please visit the link on the confirmation page to purchase your luminaries. Note: If purchasing more than one luminary only one payment is required. Luminaries may be purchased here.

RACE INFO

Warrior Walk (In-Person) 

Join us for an afternoon of fun, food and family. Meet at the track behind West Jessamine Middle School at 4pm where we will be grilling hotdogs and enjoying a chance to connect with other CDH families! The Warrior Walk will take place from 4-6:30pm, you can walk as much as you would like to reach the goals you have set for yourself. This walk is for ALL families of survivors and angels. We will begin lighting the luminaries at 6:30pm to be ready for sunset. At that time we will have a moment of silence to remember all of the warriors who were taken too soon. 

Children's Fun Run

At 5:30pm children who wish to participate will line up on track for a Super Hero Sprint! At the end there will be a photographer there to capture their best Super Hero pose for families to enjoy. The sprint is fun so everyone is a winner and will be recognized!

What to bring?

• Lawn Chairs - there are bleachers but you may want to be more comfy!

Packet Pick-Up

Packets will be available for pick-up the day of the race starting at 4pm. 

Warrior Walk (Virtual)

While we would love to see everyone in person we understand not everyone is able to travel. This is why we are offering a virtual option that allows you to register, create a team and personal goals that are important to you! Participants are encouraged to run/walk an amount that is significant to them and their child's journey. One example would be, your child was on ECMO for 11 days so you are committed to walking 11 miles with your team. Another example is your child fought hard for 43 days and everyone on your team walks 43 minutes in their honor. 

Donations

Donations are very much appreciated! All proceeds will go directly to our programming to help parents navigate life after CDH. This includes families seeking financial grants for a re-hospitalization, hospital transfer, extended NICU stay and in some cases the loss of their warrior.
