Pumpkinfest Run South Lyon

Hello Athletes!   If you live anywhere near South Lyon, I'm sure that you are familiar with the construction of Pontiac Trail. Good News!  For 2027, the Pumpkinfest Run will have a newly paved Pontiac Trail upon which to lead the parade.  Bad News.  For 2026, Pontiac Trail is unavailable.

For over 30 years, the South Lyon cross country teams have competed at Island Lake State Recreation Area.  We have a beautiful course on the shores of Kent Lake.

For 2026, the Pumpkinfest 5K Run will use the Island Lake cross country course.  It is a grass course that will have a painted line and lots of marshals.

Participants will enjoy a quality course, professional timing, refreshments, awards, and a tech shirt.  Participants will also receive tickets redeemable at the Pumpkinfest Festival at its temporary 2026 home at Bartlett Elementary in South Lyon.

I always tell the boys that I coach to be bold. Take responsible chances.  Try new things. So those are also your marching orders.  Sign up for the 2026 Pumpkinfest 5K and try out the same course that South Lyon cross country has used for over 30 years.
