Ready Set Glow 5k

Join Us for a Night of Fun at the Glow Fun Run 5K in Downtown Abilene!

Time: Run begins at 7:00 pm. Glow Party will start at 6:00 and end at 8:30 pm.

Event Overview

Pull out your brightest gear and join us for the 5th annual Ready Set Glow 5K as we celebrate five years of lighting up downtown Abilene together!  This glow-in-the-dark race will take you through the heart of downtown before ending with our biggest Glow Party yet in The Well’s Green Space.

Register by September 20 to receive your exclusive glow kit, complete with light-up accessories and our signature 2026 race t-shirt, so you can shine from start to finish! After the race, stick around for food trucks, kids activities, music, and booths from local nonprofits making a difference across Abilene.

All proceeds from the Ready Set Glow 5K directly support We Love Abilene, helping meet practical needs and provide hope to individuals and families throughout our city. 

What to Expect

Glow Gear: Everyone who registers by Sept. 20  will receive a race packet full of glow-in-the-dark accessories, including our race t-shirt. Also, everyone who donates a package of new socks or underwear for AISD Homeless Ministry during packet pick up will receive a light up baton.  Let's make downtown shine!!

Scenic Course: The timed 5K route will take you through the vibrant heart of downtown Abilene lined with glowing volunteers. This course is an open course that goes out and back to start and end at The Well church. 

Glow Party: Celebrate your accomplishment with a post-race party in The Well's green space featuring food trucks, children's activities, and non-profit vendors to help us learn ways to love Abilene together!

Registration including glow pack, bib and t-shirt is

$35 (13+) 

$15 (12& under)

Children (12 & under) not wanting a packet, bib or shirt are free!

Fun Run is $15 (all ages)

Sign up by Sept. 20 to guarantee your glow gear.

Packets can also be picked up the morning of the race (10/11/26) before or after each service in the lobby of The Well. 

Race Day Schedule:

Glow Party, including children's activities and non-profit booths starts at 6 pm. 

Walk up registration/Late packet pick up: 6:00-6:30 pm

5K Run @ 7:00 p.m.

Fun Run @ 7:05 p.m.

Parking:

Parking is available at The Well church, and the empty lot across the street. We recommend arriving early to secure your spot. *Please do not park near barricades or on N2nd street by the Well or Front Porch. 

Safety Measures: 

We will have ample lighting along the course, and glowing volunteers stationed throughout to direct traffic and ensure your safety. Please note, this is an open course, meaning roads will not be closed to traffic. We will have one traffic officer set up to help with the crossing at 5th and Pine and others strategically placed throughout the race to help with traffic and safety. Please wear appropriate footwear and be mindful of your surroundings.
