About This Race

Buffalo Marathon Weekend is the premier destination event on Memorial Day weekend in Western New York, offering a full marathon, half marathon, and 5K run and walk. The full and half marathon share a common start and finish line located less than 900 feet apart, finishing in front of the Buffalo Convention Center where the expo and post-race party are held. The flat, fast course features views of Lake Erie, KeyBank Center, and parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.

Plogging Run
Buffalo Marathon Urban Run Plogging Event Great way for your team members to participate in the Buffalo Marathon Weekend festivities while getting exercise and help improve the community. About the Plogging Event. Plogging is an activity started in Sweden where runners pick up trash while jogging along a designated route. The name is combination of Swedish term plocka upp, meaning “to pick up”, and English term jogging. Plogging is a great way to get out and move your body all around while picking up trash and jogging. We will do a 3 mile plogging run around the streets of Buffalo lead by the Urban Runners. In addition, a two mile walk will occur focused on cigarette butts lead by Tobacco Free WNY. All runners, joggers and walkers are welcome to Plog! No experience required. We will provide the garbage bags and gloves to all runners. After the run, a post run party will take place in the Entertainment District.
