About This Race

The inaugural Beat the Heat 5K takes place at Coldstream Park/Legacy Trail in Lexington, presented by the Bluegrass chapter of ASHRAE. The race offers a scenic, flat, fast course, custom T-shirts, a free Kid's Dash for ages 9 and under, and awards for top finishers. All proceeds support ASHRAE's research promotion campaign.

A timed/competitive 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk event on paved trail surfaces. Awards for top finishers. T-shirt included with registration (while supplies last).

FREE Kid's Dash (9 & Under)
An untimed kid's dash for children 9 & under. There are no awards for this event. Event is free but does not include a shirt. Parents can add a shirt for a $10 fee. All participating children receive a participation medal. Parents are welcomed to run/walk with their little ones.

Race Volunteer
We need 5-7 enthusiastic volunteers to work a 3-hour race day shift to make our race great. Volunteers earn a commemorative race T-shirt for helping out. Race day shift runs from 6:30-9:30am.
