🎆 Start Your Fourth of July with a Bang at the Firecracker 5K! 🎆

Join us on Friday, July 4, 2026, for the Edward Jones Firecracker 5K—a fun, high-energy kickoff to Platteville’s Independence Day celebration! Whether you're chasing a PR, strolling with friends, or cheering on the kids, this event has something for everyone.

🏃 Two Races. All Skill Levels. One Great Cause.
From seasoned runners to first-timers, all are welcome—and every step you take helps support the City of Platteville Fireworks Fund and the Friends of the Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums.

👟 Race Day Schedule:

• 8:00 AM – Kids’ Dash (FREE!)
  Kids 12 & under can run, jog, or walk a lap around the museum—smiles guaranteed!
• 8:30 AM – Firecracker 5K
  Enjoy a scenic route from the museum to Mound View Park & Campground along the Roundtree Branch Trail, finishing right back where the celebration begins.

🎽 Registration Details:

• $25 Pre-Registration (includes race t-shirt)
  Register by June 19 to lock in your shirt size—and get entered into a special July 4th gift basket drawing!
• Registration remains open until July 3 at 3:00 PM
• Race-Day Registration: $30 starting at 7:30 AM (shirts while supplies last)

📍 Check-in and day-of registration take place at 405 E. Main Street. Be sure to arrive early to grab your bib and shirt!

🏅 Awards & Extras:
Celebrate your finish with awards for the top 3 men and women overall, plus winners in every age group—from 14 & under to 70+.

🚂 Bonus Fun:
Show your race bib after you finish and enjoy a complimentary train ride at the museum!
