About This Race

Hoosiers Outrun Cancer is the oldest and largest 5K event in Indiana, starting and finishing on the north side of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. It is a community celebration honoring people who have faced cancer, with teams formed around those being honored or remembered. 100% of the proceeds provide free cancer support services to anyone impacted by cancer.

5K Run/Walk 5K
This 5K course kicks off on the north side of iconic Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, and covers the beautiful Indiana University campus. All racers will receive a time, and awards will be given to top male and female times in age categories.

1 Mile Run/Walk 1m
Just like the 5K, the 1 Mile course kicks off on the North side of iconic Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, looping around the athletic complex. All racers are timed, and the event is limited to a 30 minute finish time. Awards in this race are provided to youth in male and female age categories to top finishers.

Spirit Run/Walk
The Spirit registration gives you the ability to join a team and participate from afar. All Spirit registrations will receive their race shirt by mail. ***Register before September 13 to be sure you receive your race shirt prior to race day. This option counts toward team size for team awards. Instructions will be sent to you on how to submit your time to be included in our race results if you would like to be recognized for finishing time. ***Choosing the "Spirit Run/Walk" option means you won't receive a race bib
