Hoosiers Outrun Cancer

Hoosiers Outrun Cancer is one of the oldest and largest 5K run/walks in Indiana. The course covers part of the beautiful Indiana University campus. The race traditionally features a 5K Walk or Run and 1 Mile Walk or Run. Awards will be offered in the 5K to adults in age categories for men and women for top finishers, while awards will be offered to youth in the 1 Mile for top finishers. A virtual or "Spirit" registration option is available for those that wish to participate but not attend in person. Spirit registrations will receive their race shirt by mail.

Since 2000 HOC has raised over $5.3 million to support people impacted by cancer in south central Indiana. Funds raised by this event under the guidance of Bloomington Health Foundation launched Cancer Support Community South Central Indiana (CSCSCI) in Bloomington, IN. The new office is located at 1719 W. 3rd St., Bloomington, IN 47404. This office provides counseling and support groups, nutrition & exercise classes, art & music therapy, reiki, oncology massage, professional education presentations, social connections for survivors and families, a wig boutique, youth art backpacks, comfort kits, and financial assistance with food and transportation to patients in active treatment cycles. Programs are FREE to all cancer patients, survivors, family members, care givers, and friends. In 2025, 1,250 Hoosiers attended these programs 5,179 times! Hoosiers Outrun Cancer directly funds these essential support services.
