The restored station — complete with classic pumps, bright signage, and unmistakable Route 66 character — serves as the perfect anchor for this event. This series stands in solidarity with Enric Casacuberta, who is running the entire Illinois stretch of Route 66 solo to honor those living with ALS. At each stop, participants join Enric for a 2.1‑mile shared “Sidekick” segment — a symbolic reminder that no one travels this road alone. Divernon offers one of the most heartfelt meet‑up points, where restored history meets living purpose.
