About This Race

The MLK Day 5K Drum Run is a 1 mile, 5K and 10K event in Birmingham, AL celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The course runs through the Civil Rights District and historic Birmingham neighborhoods and features over 200 drummers from metro area schools and groups lining the route. The race benefits community organizations and provides scholarships through The Leftover Energy Foundation Inc.
