About This Race
The Arthur E. Schumacher Memorial 5K Race is held during the Valley City Street Fair in Valley City, OH, to honor Assistant Chief Arthur Schumacher of the Valley City-Liverpool Township Fire Department, who died during a water rescue in 1992. Hosted by the Valley City Firefighters Association, the event includes a 5K race and a 1-mile fun run. Proceeds support the Arthur E. Schumacher Scholarship Fund for community firefighters' education.
