About This Race

Stumpy's 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is a Fourth of July event in Shirland, Illinois that begins and ends at Shirland Grade School. The 5K out-and-back course runs through scenic downtown Shirland and the rolling hills of the countryside to Stumpy and back, while the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk runs through downtown and back. The chip-timed event includes a limited edition T-shirt, finisher medal, and race bib, with all proceeds donated to Shirland Grade School.

Packet pick-up held in front of Shirland Grade School (8020 North St.) on Friday, July 3rd, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Same day packet pickup available starting at 6:30AM in front of the school.
