About This Race

Grayson County Parks and Recreation and Blue Devil Cross Country boosters host the 11th annual 5k in Independence, VA on July 4. The 5k course is rated medium/hard with some hills, while the down hill mile runs before the 5k on a slight downhill for fast times. Runners can register for the 5k or down hill mile, or enter The Double for both races. Finisher medals and winner plaques for male and female awards are provided.

Independence Freedom Day 5k 5K
Enjoy the day in beautiful Independence, Virginia as we celebrate the 4th of July. The annual Independence Day parade and downtown celebration will begin shortly after the race with food, refreshments and fun for the entire family.
