About This Race
The Athens Ohio Marathon is the state's longest consecutively run marathon, held since 1968. Participants start in Uptown Athens next to the College Green of Ohio University and the course connects with the Hockhocking-Adena Bikeway for a fast and flat remainder before finishing on the Ohio University track. The route follows the Hocking River valley, making it an ideal fast course for a Boston Marathon qualifier. Both a full and half marathon are offered.
