About This Race
The Effingham County Fair 5K starts and finishes on the horse track in front of the grandstands in Altamont, Illinois, looping through the fairgrounds for 3.1 miles. Professional chip timing is provided by Kinetic Timing. The run kicks off the annual fair week, famous for the Pork Producers Stand, talent show, demo derby, and tractor pull. Awards are given to the top 3 male and female runners.
