Athena's Run for GYN Cancer

Athena's Run is a 5K to celebrate, honor and lift up the women affected by gynecologic cancers. We will increase public awareness about gynecologic cancers and raise funds to support education, advocacy, care and research. Our vision is to end gynecologic cancers through prevention, early detection and effective treatment.​​​​​

Athena’s Run for Gynecologic Cancers was founded in 2010 in an effort to promote public awareness about these devastating cancers in the Piedmont Triad Region. Over the past ten years, Athena’s Run has raised nearly $500,000. Donations from this fund are currently being used locally and nationally to support education and advocacy for gynecologic cancers; care of women to prevent, detect and treat gynecologic cancers; and research efforts for gynecologic cancer care and cure.

The "Warriors for Wellness Expo" will take place alongside the 5K and continue until 1:00 PM, bringing our community together to celebrate survivors, uplift gynecologic cancer patients, and raise awareness. Attendees can explore a variety of community resources, connect with nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting those affected by gynecologic cancers, enjoy exciting giveaways and raffles, and shop from local vendors offering unique handmade items.

The expo will also feature DJ Chuck Marsh and delicious food from Sippity Sip Coffee Truck (available during registration and throughout the day), Beef's Smokehouse, and Sunset Slush Forsyth, making it a fun and meaningful event for the whole family. The Warriors for Wellness Expo is open to the general public!
