Mental Health Matters 5k 5K
Kyle Johnson made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him during his 19 years. From his hometown of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, to his time at Keene State College and Bridgewater State University, Kyle was known for his kindness, compassion, and genuine spirit. He had a remarkable ability to bring people together—his quick wit, contagious laugh, and warm presence made others feel seen, valued, and welcomed. To know Kyle was truly to know goodness. Kyle cared deeply about his family, his friends, and helping others. He had a gift for turning even the simplest moments into something joyful and memorable, and his sense of humor could brighten anyone’s day. In 2019, Kyle died by suicide. In a letter he wrote that day, he emphasized the importance of mental health awareness and encouraged anyone struggling to seek help and to keep fighting. Honoring his words and his legacy, Kyle’s parents founded the KyleCares Project (Kyle Johnson Foundation). Today, KyleCares is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering open, honest conversations about mental health and supporting teens and young adults in seeking help without fear or stigma.
