About This Race

The Charley Western Firecracker 5K is an annual race along the Cedar River in Charles City, Iowa, marking the 24th anniversary of the event and kicking off the city's July 4th festivities. Awards are given for the Most Patriotic Individual Outfit and Most Patriotic Team Outfits. Proceeds go toward improvements on the community recreational trail.
