About This Race

The 12th Annual Run for the Ring is a 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. The professionally timed 5K circles the Anschutz Medical Campus, and kids ages 2-10 can run the Kids Fun Run around the Kids' Zone. All proceeds support the programs of the Children's Diabetes Foundation. Registration includes breakfast bites, a timing chip, race bib, and a souvenir t-shirt.

5K Race - Run/Walk 5K
Registration for both the 5K and Fun Run includes breakfast bites, timing chip (5K only), race bib, and Run for the Ring performance t-shirt. Those with type 1 diabetes will also have the option of receiving a special “I’m the 1” t-shirt, and all participants can decorate a back bib that says “Running for my 1” to honor their type 1 loved one! Must register by July 11, 2026 to guarantee a shirt. Top individual runners, teams, and fundraisers will also be recognized in the awards ceremony.

Kids Fun Run
Includes admission to Kids Zone with bounce houses, mazes, and more! Note: if your child is already registered for the 5K, they do not also need to register for the Fun Run. Registration for both the 5K and Fun Run includes breakfast bites, timing chip (5K only), race bib, and Run for the Ring performance t-shirt. Those with type 1 diabetes will also have the option of receiving a special “I’m the 1” t-shirt, and all participants can decorate a back bib that says “Running for my 1” to honor their type 1 loved one! Running not your thing? Our Sleep-In Registration allows you to donate to the cause without participating on event day, and includes a Run for the Ring performance t-shirt (mailed to the participant). Must register before July 11, 2026 to guarantee t-shirt. Those with type 1 diabetes will have the option of receiving a special "I'm the 1" t-shirt! Virtual 5K Run/Walk 5K
Unable to make it in-person? Our Virtual 5K allows you to participate in the event from your own neighborhood, nearby park, or favorite trail! Run, walk, or jog anytime during the week leading up to event day, and tag @cdfdiabetes in a social post with #RunForTheRing2025 so we can see! Virtual registration includes a Run for the Ring performance t-shirt (mailed to the participant post-event). Must register before July 11, 2026 to guarantee t-shirt.
