About This Race

Old Baldy Run for the Light is a scenic dusk run near coastal dunes and through the maritime forest on Bald Head Island, NC, heading toward the light of the Old Baldy Lighthouse. The all-asphalt, stroller-friendly course offers 5K and 10K distances plus a 1 Mile Fun Run, with water stations at the 1-, 3-, and 5-mile marks. All proceeds benefit the Old Baldy Foundation, which preserves North Carolina's oldest standing lighthouse. Finishers receive a medal and a swag bag.

Participants who register by June 30th, 2026 and attend are guaranteed a race shirt; all 5K and 10K finishers receive a finisher medal; participants also receive a swag bag while supplies last, with a drink ticket for those over 21.

Water at the 1-, 3- and 5-mile marks.

Awards

5K & 10K awards for Top 3 Males and Top 3 Females; 1 Mile Fun Run awards for Top 3 Finishers. All 5K & 10K finishers receive a medal.
