4th of July 5K Run or Walk

Babcock Ranch is excited to announce our 4th of July 5K Run/Walk. The course is a scenic 3.1 miles around through Babcock Ranch. After the race stick around and enjoy all of the great amenities at Founders Square.

This event is part of the Babcock Ranch Summer Race Series, which includes:

• Run to Remember 5K Run or Walk on May 25, 2026.

• 4th of July 5K Run or Walk on  July 4, 2026

• Labor Day 5K Run or Walk on September 7, 2026.

Series Discount: Register for two or three races and receive an automatic $5.00 discount off of each race. 

The series discount cannot be combined with age-based pricing or club discounts. 

Local running clubs receive a 10% discount with a unique coupon code. Please email [email protected] to request your code. Discount codes cannot be combined with age-based pricing or the summer series discount.

Event Overview:

Date: July 4, 2026 

Start Time: 7:30 AM (run and walk start together).

Start Location: In front of Lee Health, 42880 Crescent Loop, Punta Gorda, FL 33982

Finish: Founders Square boardwalk near the bandstand area.

Early/Race Day Packet Pickup:

July 2 & 3 | 9:00 AM to 5 PM, Babcock Ranch Lifestyles Office, 42891 Lake Babcock Dr, Punta Gorda, FL  33982

July 4 (Race Day): 6:30 AM  to 7:15 AM at Founders Square, 42850 Crescent Loop, Punta Gorda, FL 33982. Please bring a credit card or use apple pay, the race does not accept cash.

Shirts: Register by midnight, June 25, 2026 to guarantee your shirt size. After that date, shirts are available while supplies last. If your preferred size is no longer available, please select a different size or choose the NO SHIRT option. The size you select at registration is guaranteed if it's available at the time you register.

Course: Paved roads and sidewalks.

Water Stations: Located that the half point on the course and finish line.

Bathrooms: Located in Founders Square.

Race Day Parking: There is free ample parking is available near the starting area.

Awards (bandstand area):

1st Place Overall Awards: Male & Female (clock time)1st Place Masters (40), Grand Masters (50), Senior Grand Masters (60): Male & Female (clock time)In-person awards to the top three M/F in the following age groups: 9 and Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.

All participants receive a finisher medal.  If you don't stay for your award, you are responsible for coordinating with Babcock Ranch of when you will pick it up. Awards will not be shipped to participants. 

Stick around for post-race snacks after the race.

 Frequently asked questions:Q: Is this a timed race? A: Yes, the 5K "timed" event is chip-timed by Beach Bum Timing.Q: Are dogs allowed on the course? A: You may run with your dog, but you assume ALL responsibility for your dog. Your pet must be leashed at all times and up to date on vaccinations. Please pick up after your pooch. Participants with dogs will start at the back of the race unless you and your dog run a sub 21 min 5K.Q: Are strollers allowed on the course?A: Yes. Participants with strollers must start at the back of the race unless you and your stroller run a sub 21 min 5K.Q: Is the course good for spectators? A: Yes.
