About This Race

Run Around The Square is an annual charity 5K and Fun Run held in the Regent Square community, taking place Saturday, August 22. Over more than 40 years the event has raised over $350,000 to maintain, promote, and advance the betterment of Regent Square. The course returns to the route used before the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse.

5K Race 5K
Only runners and walkers are permitted to participate in the 5K. USATF SANCTIONED EVENT POLICY DOES NOT ALLOW FOR STROLLERS OR ANIMALS TO PARTICIPATE IN COMPETITIONS.  The 5K is a USATF sanctioned event; therefore, dogs and strollers are PROHIBITED in the 5K. Pre-race packet pick up will be held FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm ONLY. Packets can also be picked up on race morning starting at 7:00 am. All packet pick up is held at the Wilkins School Community Center, 7604 Charleston Avenue.

1.5 Mile Run/Walk 1m
This is a family-friendly event. Participants are welcome to bring toddlers in strollers and dogs. Dogs MUST be on a leash and include a registered handler. Participants are responsible for cleaning up after their dog(s). PLEASE NOTE: Only participants 13 years of age and under are eligible for awards in the 1.5-Mile event. In order to qualify for an award, participants are required by USATF rules to complete the course on their own without assistance. Toddlers in strollers or those who are otherwise carried or assisted by an adult ARE NOT ELIGIBLE for awards. Pre-race packet pick up will be held FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm ONLY.
