About This Race

The John Woodruff 5K Run & Walk is a long-standing annual event held in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, honoring local hero John Woodruff, who won the Gold Medal in the 800-meter race at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. The race winds through the streets of Connellsville's south side and neighboring South Connellsville. It draws participants and spectators together in celebration of Woodruff's historic achievement and lasting impact on the community.
