Join us for the BookSmiles Run for Literacy 5K, a fun and exciting event that supports BookSmiles, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting literacy and providing books to underprivileged children in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area! Event Details: - Date: Sunday, October 11, 2025 - Time: 9:00 AM (Check in/Registration opens at 7:45 AM at start) - Location: Cooper River Park - Registration Fee: $35 per person (includes a race T-shirt with no extra fee) Race Course: The 5K (3.1 mile) course will take you along Cooper River in Camden County offering an enjoyable running experience for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Both runners and walkers are welcome! All participants will start at the same time. Schedule of Events: - 7:45 AM - Check in/Registration and packet pickup opens (at start) - 9:00 AM - 5K Run then Walk starts right after - 10:00 AM - Awards ceremony and post-race celebration (T-shirts distributed at this time) Awards and Prizes: - Top 3 overall male and female finishers receive cash prize of $150 for 1st, $100 for 2nd, and $50 for 3rd - Top 3 male and female finishers in each age group receive a prize Parking: There is parking all along Cooper River. Feel free to park in any of the lots near the track or the start. About BookSmiles: BookSmiles is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. Our mission is to collect and distribute gently-used and new books to underprivileged children and teachers, fostering a love for reading and promoting literacy. Since our founding, we have provided over 1,000,000 books to local schools, libraries, and community organizations. We are always looking for volunteers at the Book Bank!
