About This Race
El Trote De Las Calacas (Skeleton Trot) is a USTF-certified 5K race/walk and cultural event in Elgin, Illinois, in its third annual year. The course starts at the Gail Borden Public Library and the celebration honors Day of the Dead with music, food, dancing catrinas, performers, and a cultural marketplace. It is presented by the Gail Borden Public Library District Foundation and the U-46 Educational Foundation to support two child-focused nonprofits.
