About This Race
The Aging in Community New Salem 5K is hosted by NDSU Aging in Community in New Salem, North Dakota. The route follows 8th Street to Highway 10, passing Salem Sue, the World's Largest Holstein Cow, and ends with a festival-type street fair on Main Street. The event raises awareness for work improving quality of life for older adults in rural North Dakota, with proceeds benefiting the local food pantry, New Salem Hunger Relief.

Aging in Community, New Salem 5K
This is a chip timed event with starting lineup beginning with competitive runners and ending with casual walkers. The course will be a predominantly asphalt with occasional gravel or dirt creating a potential uneven running surface. All runners registered prior to June 25th will lock down a t-shirt in the size they request. We will do our best to accommodate runners after June 25th with a stock of t-shirts. Medals will be given to fastest time for male and female participants in the categories of: under 20, 20-39, 40-59, 60-79 and runners over 80 years of age. Join us for this inaugural event.
