About This Race

The Laguna Niguel Family YMCA Run in the Parks celebrates its 47th year as an Independence Day community tradition. Participants can choose between a 5K run/walk and a Kids Race, with a returning Diaper Dash for children ages 3 and under. Every race entry benefits the YMCA scholarship fund, which helps provide access to YMCA programs for families in need. The course is a USATF Certified Course.

Diaper Dash
Diaper Dash is a fun-filled race designed just for our youngest runners! On July 4, 2026, children ages 3 and under can crawl, toddle, or run their way to the finish line in a 25-foot or 50-foot dash while family and friends cheer them on. Parents are welcome to run alongside their little ones, and every participant will receive a special medal sticker to celebrate their big accomplishment. Registration is just $5 per child. Join us at the Laguna Niguel Family YMCA and make your little one's first race a memorable one!
