Ruff Run California 2026

Ruff Run California is a one-of-a-kind obstacle course event in the high desert of Phelan, California, designed for people and their dogs to tackle together. Held at 4,200 feet elevation on a 20-acre course, the event features over 20 unique obstacles—including mud pits, water challenges, and strategic puzzle elements—testing the physical stamina and teamwork between each runner and their canine companion. The main distance is approximately 4 kilometers, with both a competitive wave and a fun-run option. A 1K walk/run provides a gentler introduction for those with younger or less experienced dogs. After the race, participants are treated to an outdoor after-party featuring live music, games, and vendor booths. All registered participants and volunteers receive a t-shirt. Note: a printed rabies certificate for your dog is required at check-in.
