IRONMAN World Championship

The IRONMAN World Championship is the pinnacle event of the sport of triathlon, returning exclusively to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii in 2026 in a reimagined single-day format with men and women racing together on the same day for the first time since 2022. Approximately 3,000 of the world's most competitive professional and age-group triathletes earn qualification slots to compete across the iconic 2.4-mile open-water swim in Kailua Bay, a 112-mile out-and-back bike ride through Hawaiian lava fields to the turnaround at Hawi, and a 26.2-mile coastal run along the Big Island's Alii Drive. The 2026 edition restores the championship to its historic Hawaiian roots after three years of splitting the event between Kona and Nice, France, with enhanced broadcast coverage for both the women's and men's races.
