About This Race
The Superior Fall Trail Race 100 Mile is a demanding point-to-point ultramarathon following the rugged North Shore of Lake Superior from Gooseberry Falls State Park to the finish at Caribou Highlands Lodge in Lutsen, Minnesota. The 102.9-mile course accumulates 17,350 feet of elevation gain while paralleling Lake Superior through boreal forests, crossing whitewater rivers, and ascending near-2,000-foot peaks with sweeping vistas of the lake and inland wilderness. Entry is by lottery, and finishers receive a tiered award system including a belt buckle, wooden medal, and a lifetime hooded sweatshirt upon first completion.
