About This Race
The Hardrock 100 Endurance Run is one of the most demanding and revered 100-mile trail races in the world, circling the San Juan Mountains of Colorado at an average elevation of over 11,000 feet. The course traverses 100 miles of high alpine terrain starting and finishing in Silverton, with a total elevation change of 66,394 feet — 33,197 feet of climbing and 33,197 feet of descent — reaching a high point of 14,048 feet on Handies Peak. Entry is by a weighted lottery system and the race is known for its fierce difficulty, wilderness character, and philosophy of treating finishing as a 'post-graduate' achievement.
