About This Race
The Independence Day Road Race New York City brings runners together in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, for a festive 4-mile road race on the morning of July 4th. Described as a vibrant, music-filled tour through one of Brooklyn's most beloved green spaces, the event celebrates Independence Day with scenic routes past park landmarks and a high-energy finish atmosphere. A free 1-Mile Kids Run follows the main race at 8:30 AM. The event benefits the American Cancer Society and is part of a national series of Independence Day Road Races held in multiple cities.
