Can’t make it to Iowa City on race day? You can still be part of the Live Your Best Life Sensory Walk & 5K with our Virtual 5K option. Complete your 3.1-mile run or walk anywhere you choose between November 7–14. Whether you participate on a treadmill, in your neighborhood, or on your favorite trail, you’ll still be joining a community committed to inclusion and wellness. Virtual participants receive the same race swag and can celebrate their accomplishment alongside everyone participating in person. Ready to challenge yourself? Our 5K Run/Walk offers a scenic and rewarding course through Terry Trueblood Recreation Area. Participants will begin by traveling through the Sensory Walk portion of the course, experiencing the interactive stations before continuing on to the full 5K route. Beyond the sensory section, the course opens up into a clear running path, giving runners and walkers space to find their rhythm and focus on the race. Whether you're chasing a personal best or simply enjoying the run, the 5K provides a meaningful way to support the mission of Systems Unlimited. 1-Mile Sensory Walk
Our 1-Mile Sensory Walk is the heart of the Live Your Best Life Sensory Walk & 5K, designed to be welcoming, accessible, and engaging for participants of all abilities. Along the route at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area, participants will experience interactive sensory stations that celebrate movement, creativity, and fun. Walk through scented bubbles, run through colorful ribbon tunnels, explore art displays, pop bubble wrap, and pass through our beloved flower tunnel. This event is perfect for families, first-time participants, and anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxed walk while celebrating inclusion and community.
