About This Race

The Freedom Run for Epilepsy Awareness is the Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii's annual run/walk held at Kailua High School in Kailua, raising awareness and funds for those impacted by epilepsy. The event offers chip-timed 5K and 10K timed runs plus a free 1-mile awareness walk. Check-in begins at 5:30 AM with the event starting at 7:00 AM. On-site activities include sponsor booths, a Pet Oasis, costume contests, and shave ice for runners.

While we’d love to welcome your furry companions right to the starting line, our host location (a school campus) has a strict no-pets policy — and signs to prove it! 🐶🚫 But don’t worry! We’ve created a special sign-in and cheering area just down the way for your beloved pets and their loyal humans. Bring your leashed dogs, fancy strollers for cats (we’ve seen it!), or even a pic of your favorite pet to keep the spirit alive. Let’s honor the rules and the fun — because no one gets left behind, not even our four-legged friends. 🐕💜
