About This Race

The 33rd Annual Willow Bay 5K is a women's only run and fitness walk in Liverpool, NY on a flat, fast, USATF-certified, scenic out-and-back paved course closed to traffic along Onondaga Lake. The in-person event starts at 9:00 AM, with registration opening at 7:30 AM at the Sawmill Creek Pavilion. Prizes include overall top 3, 5-year age groups, family teams, the Double Your Fun challenge, and door prizes. A souvenir shirt is provided to all participants while supplies last.

Top 3 finishers overall; age-group awards to top three in 5-year age groups from 10-14 through 85+; top three teams in each family category (Mother-Daughter, Sister-Sister, Grandmother-Granddaughter & Aunt-Niece); door prize random drawings; and a Double Your Fun Challenge.

Packet Pickup

Packets can be picked up at Fleet Feet's Clay store on Route 31 on Thursday, August 13, 2026, between 5:00-6:30 PM, or at the race site on the morning of the race.

33rd Annual Willow Bay 5K IN-PERSON Run & Walk for Women 5K
Flat, certified (NY83004TC) out and back course along the East Shore of Onondaga Lake. Start at Willow Bay; turnaround near the Yacht Club; and finish at Willow Bay. To get to the start, enter the park via Long Branch Road. This is a women-only event that was created in 1993 as part of the Women’s Distance Festival Series that was, at the time, being promoted throughout the country. The motivation for the series was to get a Women’s 5K Race into the Olympic games as up until then, it was thought that a 5K was too long of a distance for women!
