About This Race
The FLATS Uncle Sam 5K & 1.2 Mile Walk/Run is an Independence Day event in Kirksville, MO, starting and finishing at the Dukum Inn. It supports the Forest Lake Area Trail System (FLATS) and is part of Kirksville's annual Red, White, and Blue Festival. The course is a mostly flat route through the streets of Kirksville with a few gentle hills, with both distances starting simultaneously at 8:30 AM. All participants receive a commemorative T-shirt, post-race refreshments, and a chance to win door prizes.

Overall plaques to the fastest male and female finishers in the 5K, a plaque to the top finisher in the 1.2-mile event, and age group medals to the top three finishers in each division (19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+).
