About This Race

The Gypsy Hill Park Firecracker 5K is Staunton's largest and most competitive 5K, held July 4th on a gently rolling course through Gypsy Hill Park before the city's Happy Birthday America parade. All participants receive a commemorative race shirt while supplies last, and top finishers earn overall and age-group awards. This year's overall male and female winners win a pair of Hoka running shoes. All proceeds benefit the Salvation Army's Pathway of Hope Program supporting local families.

Gypsy Hill Park Firecracker 5k 5K
Course Notes: The course consists of 2.3 loops around Gypsy Hill Park's Constitution Drive, starting near the golf course entrance and ending near the Kiwanis concession stand. This is a closed course. Day of Packet Pick-Up: The packet pick up tent can be found near the Kiwanis ball field concession stand, between the little league ball fields closer to the park's west entrance. Parking: Parking can be found along Springhill Road, Churchville Avenue and surrounding neighborhood streets around Gypsy Hill Park. Parking will not be permitted inside Gypsy Hill Park boundaries.
