About This Race

The River Run takes place in Simsbury, Connecticut and features USATF certified 5K and 10K road races plus 1 mile and half mile kids races. The course is a flat route along smooth roads bordering parks, the Farmington River, farms, and residential homes. The event has been hosted by the Simsbury-Granby Rotary Club since 1995, with 100% of proceeds returning to the community.

Custom pint glass awarded to Overall Winners in the 5K and 10K and Top 3 in each age division. Age divisions (male & female): 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

All participants will receive a River Run athletic t-Shirt. Starts and finishes at the Simsbury Meadows. Very flat - in fact, the only "hill" is going over the Drake Hill Bridge. Runners & walkers welcome, although we ask that slower runners & walkers start in middle or back of queue.

10K 10K
All participants will receive a River Run athletic t-Shirt. Race starts and finishes at the Simsbury Meadows. Just past the 1 mile mark, the 10k participants will continue straight on Riverside Road, breaking away from the 5k participants. Please no walkers on the 10k.

Kids Run
All participants will receive a River Run T-Shirt sponsored by Fitzgerald's Foods. Race starts and finishes at the Simsbury Meadows field. Kids have the option of doing 1 Mile or 1/2 Mile. Finishers receive medals from the YMCA & a finisher certificate.
