About This Race

The High Country Turkey Trot is the largest 5K and 10K race in the High Country, held on Thanksgiving morning on the Boone Greenway Trail in Boone, North Carolina. Runners can choose a timed 5K or 10K trail race through the woods via the Greenway and Kennedy Trails, or an untimed paved 5K Fun Run/Walk that welcomes leashed dogs, strollers, and mobility aids. The event includes a live DJ, costumes, and a picnic shed of food and hot drinks, and benefits Hospitality House.
