About This Race
The Santa Cruz Trail Run takes place in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton, California, offering 10K, Half Marathon, and 30K distances. Runners traverse twisty single-track through giant redwoods, dirt fire roads, loose sand on the golden half-mile, and river crossings, with ocean breezes from the Santa Cruz coast. Aid stations sit every five to six miles, and the cupless event is professionally chip timed.
Course & Race Day Details
Hydration Support
Aid stations every 5-6 miles with Gu gels and chews, snacks, fruit, soda, water, Skratch Labs hydration, and salt tablets; cupless event so runners carry their own bottle.
Awards
Top three overall (male and female) per distance receive a custom trophy; all finishers get a custom medal; age-group medals 3 deep for male, female, and non-binary; a Dead Last Finisher award is given.
Race Weekend Logistics
Packet Pickup
Early check-in Friday, August 21, 3-7 PM at Fleet Feet Aptos; race morning 7:30-9:00 AM.
Medical Support
Aid stations are equipped with general first aid items (but no anti-inflammatory medicine).
