About This Race
The Greenville Journal Run Downtown 5K is the 48th annual running of one of the oldest, largest, and most popular 5K events in South Carolina, held on the third Saturday of January in downtown Greenville. Presented by the Greenville Track Club and sponsored by the Greenville Journal, the chip-timed course winds through downtown streets starting near the Peace Center. It is a GTC Corporate Shield event included in the GTC running series. Awards are based on chip time across overall and many age group categories.

Chip time used for all awards. Top 3 male and female for Overall, Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), Senior grandmasters (60+), and age groups (18 & Under through 80+).
Race Weekend Logistics
Packet Pickup
Friday, January 15 Noon to 6:00 pm at Fleet Feet Greenville, 635 Augusta St; Saturday, January 16 6:00 to 7:45 inside the Courtyard hotel, 50 W. Broad St.
