More Than a Race. A Newburyport Tradition. For more than 40 years, the High Street Mile has been Newburyport's signature race morning during Yankee Homecoming.

Every summer, runners of all ages gather on historic High Street to celebrate competition, family, community, and one of the North Shore's favorite traditions before the annual Yankee Homecoming Parade.

Some runners come to chase a personal best. Some are toeing the starting line for the very first time.

Many families return year after year, watching their children grow, celebrating milestones, and creating memories that last far beyond race day.

Early Packet Pickup

Details will be announced closer to race day.

Race Morning

Packet pickup and race-day registration begin at 7:30 a.m. at Atkinson Common and close promptly at 8:30 a.m.

One of the things that makes the High Street Mile unique is that race morning is just the beginning.

Celebrate with fellow runners at the post-race gathering, then enjoy the excitement of the annual Yankee Homecoming Parade as downtown Newburyport comes alive.
