About This Race
The Tacoma Independence Day 5K is the 12th Annual chip-timed 5K held on July 4, 2026, on a fast, flat and downhill point-to-point course. Runners start near Vassault Park at the top of Tacoma and finish at the newly renovated Owen Beach at Point Defiance Park. A Kids 1K also takes place at Owen Beach at 9:15am, and a portion of proceeds benefits the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County.
