About This Race
Join the Lakeland Rotary's Annual Rump Roast Run in beautiful Minocqua, Wisconsin! This exciting event celebrates community, fitness, and local tradition with races for every runner.
Our scenic courses wind along Lake Minocqua's stunning shoreline and through picturesque wooded lanes, culminating at the historic Bearskin Trail trestle. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, we have a race for you:
- Calf Mile: A fun 1-mile race for kids 10 and under
- 5K Run/Walk: A beautiful course through Minocqua
- 10K Run: An extended trail adventure through scenic wetlands
After the race, stick around for the epic Beef-A-Rama festival! Enjoy live music, local food vendors, and a festive beer garden. Runners 21+ can even redeem their race bib for a free beverage!
Exciting prizes await our top performers, including beef roasts for overall male and female winners and commemorative cowbells for top finishers in each age group.

IN PERSON REGISTRATION AND BIB PICK-UP: Friday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 pm and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. at the American Legion, 121 Front Street, directly across the street from the Minocqua post office.
Age Group Awards (5K/10K): Awards will be given to top male and female finishers in these age groups:
- Under 14
- 14-19
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60-69
- 70-79
- 80+
Calf Mile
- Under 5
- 5-6
- 7-8
- 9-10
