About This Race

The Mackinac Island Eight Mile is an 8-mile road race and walk on Mackinac Island, Michigan, celebrating its 55th anniversary. The fast, flat course follows the island perimeter clockwise, starting in front of Mission Point Resort, passing Victorian homes and the boat harbor, then following the shoreline of the Straits of Mackinac. Up to 1,800 runners and walkers participate, and the island is reachable only by ferry.

Hydration Support

Three water stations located approximately every two miles along the course, plus water at the finish line.

Awards to Overall and Masters male and female and the first three finishers in each age group, for both run and walk.

Race Weekend Logistics

Packet Pickup

Pick up bib and shirt at the Sound Stage of Mission Point Resort. Friday Sept 11: 4:00-7:00 PM; Saturday Sept 12: 7:30-9:30 AM.

A great kids event with two distances run on Lakeshore Drive to the Finish (~150 yards and ~300 yards). All participants receive a shirt and a medal.

Complete the 8 Mile distance at your own convenience - any where and any time you choose. We will mail your shirt and medal out and you can post your results any time after race day. This race will is qualify as one of the Mackinac Island Trio events.
