About This Race
For nearly 60 years, the Arnold Mills 4M Road Race has been a staple of the Cumberland, RI Fourth of July celebration. Held annually on Independence Day, this popular four-mile race draws over 600 participants to the starting line each year, including top talent from across Rhode Island and beyond.
Run on a moderately challenging rural course and held in conjunction with the town’s annual parade, the Arnold Mills 4M has long been a highlight of the holiday tradition. In past years, the race has welcomed notable competitors such as U.S. Olympians Matt Centrowitz Sr. and Pete Pfitzinger, triathlon champion Karen Smyers, and Rhode Island marathon legend Bobby Doyle.
