About This Race
The Freedom 5k is an all-American family and community event held in the spirit of American Independence, presented by SUN Realty and The OBX Running Company. The chip-timed 5k/1 Mile starts and finishes at the Kill Devil Hills Town Hall, with a Little Sparkler 1/4 Mile Fun Run following. Race fee includes a t-shirt, finisher medal, chip timing, event photography, and light snacks and refreshments. The event benefits the Outer Banks Giving Tree.

Unique awards for the top Male and Female winners, 1st-3rd place Overall, 1st-3rd place M/F Masters (over 40) and 1st in age group 10 year increments starting at U10.
