Bastrop Backyard Ultra/Last Standing
One loop. One hour. Do it again. And again. And again. The Autumn Harvest Last Standing is a last-person-standing trail ultra on the rolling single-track of Lake Bastrop South Shore Park. Every hour on the hour, runners depart the start line and must complete a 4.16-mile loop before the next hour begins. Miss the cutoff on any loop and you're eliminated. The last runner still completing loops wins, provided they can complete one final victory lap within the hour. What makes this race different is the cumulative time tiebreaker. If more than one runner survives to the 24-hour mark, the winner is determined by lowest total time across all completed loops. Every second you bank in hour two matters when you're still running in hour twenty-two. The course runs through the pine-shaded trails of South Shore Park — Swift Trail, Gideon Loop, and connectors with rolling elevation and scenic lake views. Runners return to the start/finish aid station after every loop, making this one of the most crewable and spectator-friendly ultras in Texas. Headlamps required. Autumn temperatures. Finisher awards, and a hard-earned story to tell.
