First Gen-5K Run for Opportunity, Grow Together
Join us on August 8th at 8:00 AM at Baseline Road Trailhead for the inaugural First Gen-5K a community-driven race created to celebrate and support first-generation students.

More than just a race, the First Gen-5K is a growing movement bringing together runners, students, families, local businesses, and leaders through health, opportunity, and community impact.

Whether you’re chasing a PR, running with friends, or showing support for the next generation, this event is built for everyone. With official pace groups, chip timing, sponsor booths, music, awards, and a strong race-day atmosphere, we’re creating an experience that goes beyond the finish line.

This year’s event will also feature the:

First Gen Future Award
A $500 award recognizing a first-generation student and their story, ambition, and future goals.

Every step supports education. Every runner helps create opportunity.

Proceeds from this event will support the First Generation Foundation, the Vida Valiente Foundation, and local scholarship initiatives that directly impact first-generation students in our community.
