WALK WITH ME SUGAR 5K RUN/WALK AGAINST DIABETES presented by ELB Philanthropy

The 2026 “Walk With Me Sugar” 5K Run/Walk Against Diabetes, hosted by the Eta Nu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the 1911 Foundation, is a premier community health initiative designed to raise awareness, promote prevention, and encourage healthier lifestyles. This event brings together individuals, families, healthcare professionals, and community leaders in a unified effort to address the growing impact of diabetes—particularly within underserved communities. 

More than just a race, the "Walk With Me Sugar 5K" serves as a platform for health education, engagement, equity, prevention, and access. Participants will have opportunities to connect with health resources, receive screenings, and gain valuable information about diabetes prevention and management. The event fosters a spirit of unity and empowerment, reinforcing the importance of proactive health and community support.

In 2026, we are intentionally expanding the scope and reach of this initiative. Through strategic partnerships, enhanced programming, and increased community outreach, we aim to deepen our impact and extend critical resources to those who need them most. Our goal is not only to raise awareness, but to drive lasting change by equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge to lead healthier lives.

After The Race...

After the "Walk With Me Sugar" event, participants can continue to explore health-related booths from local organizations providing screenings and health/wellness resources on diabetes management, nutrition, fitness, and overall well-being. To keep energy high, there will be DJ and OSU Spirit Squad, creating a fun and uplifting atmosphere as the community comes together to support healthier lifestyles.
