Ely Mountain Trail Race

The inaugural Ely Mountain Trail Race is a spectacular new addition to San Joaquin Running Co's lineup, featuring two challenging distances through the stunning Sierra Nevada mountains above Shaver Lake, California. The 14K (8.7 mile) course delivers serious elevation with 1,800 feet of climbing, including a demanding 1,000-foot ascent up Ely Mountain that rewards runners with sweeping views of the Sierra, Shaver Lake, and valley below. The 8K (4.9 mile) option offers a more accessible 800-foot climb while still providing all the mountain atmosphere. Both courses feature smooth singletrack and dirt roads with crisp mountain air and epic scenery. Starting at Balsam Forebay, runners will experience the beauty of Sierra National Forest with wildlife, wildflowers, and pristine lakes throughout the course.
